I started selling vacation packages part-time in 1989 without any prior experience. Then, I took my first trip as a travel agent; the trip was specifically designed for agents to get familiarized with the destination and resorts. I loved and enjoyed it so much that it made me think...How can I comeback with my wife again and again plus sell it for living?

The business did not happen right away, but in 1993, I finally had the courage to open Grand Travel & Cruise with the ultimate in customer service as my priority. All I wanted to focus on was selling vacation packages and cruises since selling airline tickets did not appeal to me as much. So I started focusing on Funjet Vacations. Grand Travel & Cruise grew rapidly with Funjet Vacation's air and hotel all inclusive vacation packages...mostly Mexico beaches, Las Vegas and Jamaica.

It truly has been a great experience ever since. Our business grew exponentially until 2001 when the combination of online travel booking became common practice and 9/11 brought things to a halt. However, we are so passionate about selling vacations that create special memories for our valued customers; this is why we have been able to overcome these obstacles and thrive again. We are blessed to have continued success because of our wonderful repeat customers and their referrals.

Grand Travel & Cruise has been in Funjet Vacation's 500 Club since 1994--our first year. A lot has changed, but we have maintained our status as top producers in the Houston market. All of our agents have traveled to the resorts and destinations that we recommend. Today, we sell nationwide air and hotel packages and cruises. We do all the research and use our own vacation experience to recommend the perfect destination.
